Venus Viva

The sun’s UV rays, environmental toxins, free radicals, and the natural aging process can all take a toll on the appearance of our skin. Men and women who are seeking a refreshed, rejuvenated complexion without ample downtime can often benefit from the Venus Viva treatment. At Park Avenue Medical Spa, we are proud to offer this innovative skin resurfacing treatment to address an array of aesthetic concerns.

What is Venus Viva?

In the past, CO2 lasers used to be the gold standard for skin resurfacing, but their association with discomfort and downtime led to the creation of a new, innovative treatment option. Venus Viva is a cutting-edge skin resurfacing treatment that targets signs of skin damage or aging such as acne scars, rosacea, enlarged pores, stretch marks, deep wrinkles, pigmentation, and uneven skin texture.

Who is a Candidate?

Ideal candidates for this treatment will have signs of skin damage or aging that they wish to eliminate. The Venus Viva treatment is safe for all skin types and tones. To learn more about this treatment and if it is right for you, please contact our office today to schedule a consultation appointment, during which we will discuss your medical history, and aesthetic concerns to create a personalized treatment plan for you.

The Venus Viva treatment uses a device equipped with small pins that gently deliver radiofrequency (RF) heat through the surface of the skin. This creates small micro-wounds, which stimulate the body’s natural healing process, resulting in a stronger collagen support network. This is key because collagen’s main job is to provide structure, strength, and support to the skin. Each session takes about 15-30 minutes to complete.

While treatment is not painful, it may cause mild discomfort. Many people describe the treatment as feeling similar to a sunburn. We offer a topical numbing agent for those who wish for an extra boost of comfort during treatment.

Most people require 3-4 skin resurfacing treatment sessions per area, each spaced 4-6 weeks apart, for optimal results. After your final treatment, your results will continue to improve for 3-4 months.

Recovery and Results

Following your Venus Viva treatment, you should plan for 24 hours of downtime. Your skin may feel warm, similar to when you have a sunburn. It is advised that you avoid touching or applying makeup or skincare products to the treated area. After 24 hours, you will be able to apply sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun.  Be sure to follow the post-care instructions provided to you for optimal results.
