3 Things to Know About Restylane®

 In Uncategorized

There are many different types of dermal fillers on the market. Some are used for the face, some are used for the hands, and some are used in both areas combined. It can be a tedious task to try and figure out which filler is the best for your needs, but Park Avenue Medical Spa can help determine the perfect filler to enhance your appearance.

1. What Is Restylane®?

Restylane® is a family of injectable products designed to rejuvenate the skin’s appearance by replenishing lost volume in the face and hands. It is a hyaluronic acid gel-like substance that provides natural-looking, long-lasting results. Restylane® hydrates the skin to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, nasolabial folds, upper lip lines, thin lips, cheek volume loss, and wrinkled or veiny hands. There are several different products that may be used to improve your appearance:

  • Restylane®
  • Restylane® Defyne™
  • Restylane® Lyft™
  • Restylane® Refyne™
  • Restylane® Silk

2. Are Restylane® Products Right for Me?

It is important to schedule a consultation with Dr. Tchelebi at Park Avenue Medical Spa to determine whether you are a true candidate for Restylane® products or not. Most candidates are those individuals who are in good health and have realistic expectations. Candidates also wish to achieve enhanced lips, fuller cheeks, midface, and hands, and natural-looking results where wrinkles tend to form easily.

3. What Is Treatment Like?

Restylane® treatment is fairly simple. It is quick, easy, and effective. Treatment typically takes about 15 minutes to one hour to complete, depending on the number of areas being treated. Most patients return to work or their regular activities the following day. Potential side effects may include bruising, swelling, redness, soreness, and itching; however, these usually subside within a couple of weeks after treatment.

Results become apparent immediately and will increase with time. Restylane® can last up to 18 months, and it is recommended that patients undergo routine maintenance to maintain their desired appearance.
