Most men and women don’t think about everyday activities like sleeping, their skin care routine, and other normal things that could potentially affect the outcome of their results. That’s why we’re here. Let’s dive in and cover life after your PDO thread lift treatment.

What Is a PDO Thread Lift?

During a PDO thread lift, your skin is lifted and tightened using Polydioxanone (PDO) threads. These threads are dissolvable, which means they will be naturally eliminated over time. The threads are anchored and inserted into the different layers of the skin with needles, providing instant lifting and tightening effects on the face. The natural production of collagen is stimulated and a more youthful facial appearance is revealed. PDO thread lift is non-invasive, and requires minimal recovery; however, considerable caution must be taken to achieve and maintain the best results.

What You Should Be Aware of After Your PDO Thread Lift

As mentioned above, normal daily activities don’t really cross your mind before your procedure until you actually go to perform those tasks or do those activities. Dr. Tchelebi will provide you with complete after-care instructions, and you can always call if you need clarification or have other questions. Here are a few “normal” things that you should take note of while planning for your PDO thread lift

Taking a Bath or Shower

You should wait at least 12 hours before bathing or soaking the treated area. Avoid massaging or scrubbing with a washcloth for the first three weeks following your PDO thread lift.

Skin Care Routine & Makeup

You may restart a regular wash, dry, and lotion routine about 48 hours after your thread lift. Makeup may be resumed after 48 hours as well, and it will hide any residual bruising that may occur. It is important that you minimize any rubbing, pulling, or exfoliating of the skin.

Exercising

Light exercises like walking may be resumed after one week. Any activity that strains the treated area, like weight lifting or yoga, should be avoided until you are cleared by Dr. Tchelebi.

Returning to Work

Depending on the nature of the work involved, patients could return to work as early as a few days later. However, most patients return to work one or two weeks after their treatment to give the face time to heal and reduce any swelling or bruising that may occur. For a more physically demanding job, it is recommended that you get the OK from Dr. Tchelebi before returning to work.

Enjoy Your Results!

The last thing you need to do is enjoy your newly lifted face. Results will continue over time, and they last up to two years. Feel great and look even better with a PDO thread lift at Park Avenue Medical Spa!
