Preparing for BOTOX® Cosmetic
Undergoing a procedure for the first time can be a little nerve-wracking. Whether it’s a full-on invasive procedure or just a quick injectable treatment, it’s still something that can put your stomach in knots until it’s over. It is important that you are prepared for any procedure that you undergo so that you know what to expect during and after your experience.
What Is BOTOX® Cosmetic?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is an injectable neuromodulator (neurotoxin) that significantly reduces fine lines and wrinkles in the face. This treatment temporarily paralyzes the muscles in the treatment area to prevent them from being used and creating fine lines and wrinkles in areas like the forehead, crow’s feet, and frown lines.
What Can BOTOX® Cosmetic Treat?
There are a few different areas of the face that BOTOX® Cosmetic can treat, which include:
- Crow’s feet
- Glabellar region (between the brows, 11s)
- Forehead lines
BOTOX® is also FDA approved to treat other non-cosmetic issues like:
- Excessive sweating
- Overactive bladder
- Limb Spasticity
Why Should I Choose Dr. Tchelebi at Park Avenue Medical Spa?
Dr. Tchelebi at Park Avenue Medical Spa is certified in medical esthetics and specializes in cosmetic injections, including BOTOX® Cosmetic. During your consultation, Dr. Tchelebi will determine the precise location for your injections, depending on your desires and needs. The injections will be made in several points of the face so that you can achieve optimal results.
What Should I Expect After My BOTOX® Cosmetic Treatment?
After your BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment, you should refrain from bending down, rubbing or massaging the treatment area, or applying pressure to the area for a few hours. These actions could cause the injectable substance to travel into other areas of the face and body, which could potentially lead to unwanted, negative results. Noticeable results should appear within one to two days, and results should last up to six months. In order to maintain your fresh, wrinkle-free appearance, it is recommended that you continue BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments.
