What Causes Extreme Sweating?

Sometimes men and women experience hyperhidrosis (extreme sweating) because of faulty nerve signals to the brain. When the nerves don’t work properly, they can cause the sweat glands to overproduce, resulting in excessive sweating in the palms of the hands, the soles of the feet, the face, or the underarms. This condition can be genetic, or it can be due to certain medications or an underlying medical condition. A thorough consultation with Dr. Tchelebi will help to determine the root cause of your sweating as well as confirm if you are a candidate for treatment.

How Do I Stop My Sweating?

At Park Avenue Medical Spa, we offer a few different options for the treatment of excessive sweating. Your personalized treatment plan will be created during your consultation with Dr. Tchelebi.

Fractora™ Microneedling

Microneedling may seem like a non-conventional way to eliminate sweat, but it can work and is entirely safe and effective. The radiofrequency heat from the Fractora™ device stops the overproduction of sweat by destroying the majority of the armpit sweat glands. Fractora™ microneedling typically takes one hour to complete and the results are long lasting.

Neurotoxins Like Dysport® & Botox®

At Park Avenue Medical Spa, we offer two neuromodulators to combat excessive sweating Dysport® and BOTOX®. Both of these products provide similar results. Neuromodulators treat severe sweating by blocking the secretion of the chemical that activates sweat glands. The number of units injected, which will be predetermined during your consultation, will define how long your results last; however, most injectable treatments for Dysport® and BOTOX® last three to six months. This injectable treatment is quick and can be performed during your lunch break with no downtime.
