Versatile Treatments With Fotona

Cosmetic laser technology has come a long way in recent years. At Park Avenue Medical Spa, we offer treatment with the Fotona SP Dynamis system. This device can perform a myriad of cosmetic and medical treatments, and it is one of the most versatile laser systems available.

What Can Fotona Be Used For?

The Fotona SP Dynamis system has several cosmetic and medical applications. The device uses Erbium and Nd: YAG lasers to address both the surface and deeper layers of the skin. The interchangeable handpieces make it easy to switch between functions. The Fotona SP Dynamis system also allows your provider to adjust energy types and pulse duration for completely customized results.

TightSculpting®

TightSculpting® uses two laser wavelengths to cause a thermal reaction in the skin to destroy fat cells and remodel collagen. First, the Nd: YAG laser heats deep layers of the skin, breaking down fat cells and causing collagen coagulation. The Erbium laser is then used to encourage collagen remodeling for long-lasting skin tightening results. TightSculpting® can be performed on virtually any part of the body.

Fotona 4D®

The Fotona 4D® uses both the Erbium and Nd: YAG lasers in four separate treatment modes to tighten facial tissues from within the mouth and tighten and smooth wrinkles on the surface of the skin. With little to no downtime, this non-invasive rejuvenation treatment is perfect for patients who wish to address signs of aging in the lower portion of the face.

Permanent Hair Reduction

Shaving, waxing, and tweezing can be expensive and cause skin irritation. The Fotona SP Dynamis system can provide permanent hair reduction on almost any area of the body and can even be used to reduce the growth of blond hair. The FRAC3® technology uses the Nd: YAG laser to safely destroy active hair follicles without damage to the surrounding tissues.

Pigmented Lesions

The Fotona can address hyperpigmentation, such as sun spots and melasma, using Erbium laser energy. Pigment cells, such as melanin, absorb the focused light energy, heat up, and are destroyed, providing a clearer complexion with minimal downtime. Studies have shown improvement of pigmented lesions by up to 93 percent in some patients.

Scar Revision

The treatment of scars using the Fotona system is minimally invasive and requires minimal recovery time. Ablative light wavelengths vaporize the outer layers of damaged skin while also heating the deeper layers, encouraging the growth of new skin cells and collagen. The type of laser used will depend on the type of scar being treated. Erbium lasers are best for acne scarring, while the Nd: YAG laser is more appropriate for hypertrophic scars (thickened scars caused by injuries).

Hair Restoration

HaiRestart with Fotona uses a non-ablative laser wavelength used to stimulate weakened hair follicles. The Er: YAG laser energy may help improve blood flow to the treatment site, which increases the absorption of oxygen and other nutrients by the hair follicle, making it healthier and stronger.

What Is the Recovery Period Like?

While most treatments performed with the Fotona SP Dynamis system require little to no downtime, the exact recovery period will depend on the area being treated and the wavelengths being utilized. Dr. Tchelebi will discuss the details of your treatment with you during your consultation and after your session. It is important to follow any aftercare instructions carefully to help ensure optimal results.
