What?! A Lift Without Surgery!

The natural aging process occurs for everyone, and there isn’t really a way to stop it. However, there are treatments and services that can help prolong the aging process and make you appear younger for longer periods of time. Some of these services require surgery, while some use injectable treatments or threads to enhance the appearance to give you a smoother, more youthful appearance.

What Is a PDO Thread Lift?

A PDO thread lift uses sutures made of polydioxanone to lift sagging facial skin and add volume to the midface by stimulating the production of collagen. This process is fairly quick and can last between 10 and 45 minutes, depending on the treatment area. Patients will be given a local anesthetic for comfort.

What Types of Thread Is Used?

During your thread lift, there will be two types of PDO threads to choose from:

  • Smooth Threads: Smooth threads are mostly used to correct wrinkles and creases in the skin. These threats need to attach to a firm surface, like the scalp or face.
  • Barbed Threads: Barbed threads attach to the skin with tiny barbs and are used for lifting. The number of threads used will depend on the area of treatment.

What Areas Can Be Treated?

There are many different areas of concern for men and women, and it truly depends on your facial goals; however, most treatment areas are for wrinkles, folds, and sagging in the following areas:

  • Eyebrows
  • Corners of the eyes
  • Under eyes
  • Cheeks
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Mouth
  • Jawline
  • Neck

Am I a Candidate?

If you suffer from sagging facial tissues, volume loss, fine lines, or wrinkles in the facial and neck area, then you may be a candidate for a PDO thread lift. By scheduling a consultation with Dr. Tchelebi at Park Avenue Medical Spa, you will be able to undergo a full examination of your face and discuss your goals. Dr. Tchelebi will then determine if you are a candidate for a thread lift procedure. If you are not a candidate, then she can suggest another treatment that will better suit you at this time.
