Which Hair Removal Method Is Best for Me?

Unwanted hair on any area of your body can be frustrating and embarrassing, and temporary removal methods like shaving and waxing can be expensive and irritating. Luckily, there are more permanent solutions available.

Which Treatments Are Available?

There are a few different treatments available to remove unwanted hair. The procedure that is best for you will depend on several factors, including the size of the treatment area and the color of your skin and hair. During your consultation, Dr. Tchelebi will examine you and ask you about your needs and preferences.

Electrolysis

Electrolysis is most often used for eliminating small areas of unwanted facial and body hair. This method involves few side effects, is safe on all skin types, and effective on grey, light, or blond hair. Electrolysis is cleared by the FDA and recognized by the American Medical Association for permanent hair removal. During your procedure, a small needle, which emits an electric current, is inserted into the hair follicle. The electric current heats and destroys the follicle, and the hair is removed with tweezers. The follicles that are destroyed cannot grow new hair. A series of treatments is usually required, as hair grows in different stages.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal uses pulsed laser energy to remove unwanted hair. The laser energy heats and destroys active hair follicles while leaving the surrounding tissues unharmed. Laser hair removal is safe, painless, and convenient, and can provide long-term hair removal from nearly any area of the body.

The Fotona SP Dynamis system can be used to remove hair from almost any area of the body, and is effective even on light hair. Side effects are minimal, and the results can be permanent once the treatment regimen is completed.
