By now, you have probably heard about CoolSculpting®. This revolutionary, nonsurgical treatment freezes fat cells and smoothes out bulges without downtime. If you have stubborn fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise, CoolSculpting® may be a good option for you. Skin tightening treatments, such as Venus Legacy™ or Forma™, can be combined with CoolSculpting® for optimal body contouring results without surgery.
How CoolSculpting® Works
CoolSculpting® works using a process called cryolipolysis, which means “fat freezing.” The applicator is placed on a fat bulge and draws it up between the cooling panels using suction. The CoolSculpting® machine then applies controlled cooling to the target site. The cold temperatures crystallize fat cells without damaging the skin and other tissues. The crystallized fat cells then die and are eliminated from the body as waste over the next several weeks. CoolSculpting® can be done on many parts of the body, including the abdomen, back, flanks, love handles, upper arms, and fat deposits under the chin.
What to Expect After Your CoolSculpting® Treatment
Immediately following your treatment, you may experience some skin redness, bruising, and tenderness in the target site. However, these side effects should resolve within a week or two. You may see a slight difference in the appearance of the treated areas right away, but the most noticeable changes will become apparent in eight to 12 weeks as your body processes the dead fat cells.
Combining Treatments
Excess fat can cause the skin to expand, and as you age, your body produces less of the proteins the skin needs to remain supple and elastic. Once you lose that excess fat, your skin may not be able to return to its original shape. If you are concerned about skin laxity, noninvasive skin tightening procedures can be combined with your CoolSculpting®. Here at Park Avenue Medical Spa, we offer treatment with Venus Legacy™ or Forma™ to tighten the skin and give you the silhouette you desire.
Venus Legacy™
Venus Legacy™ uses radiofrequency (RF) and pulsed electromagnetic energies to tighten the skin. This noninvasive technology causes a thermal reaction in the deeper layers of the skin. Heating the tissues encourages lymphatic drainage, stimulates collagen production, and helps break down fat cells. Venus Legacy™ is an excellent way to tighten skin and reduce cellulite.
Forma™
Forma™ is an innovative technology from InMode that also uses RF energy to tighten skin. The handpiece delivers the radiofrequency to the underlying layers of the skin, causing them to heat up in a similar way as the Venus Legacy™. Forma™ is ideally suited for application to the face, neck, and jowls.
These noninvasive technologies can help you achieve your aesthetic goals without surgery or extended downtimes.
