The Sofwave™ Simple Solution

Are you bothered by lax skin or lines and wrinkles that make you look older than you feel? If so, you may be able to benefit from the revolutionary Sofwave™ treatment at Park Avenue Medical Spa.

What Is Sofwave™?

Sofwave™ is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive solution for fine lines and wrinkles. Using SUPERB™ Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology, Sofwave™ brings a cutting-edge approach to skin tightening. In December 2022 it was also FDA-approved for improvement of cellulite. This breakthrough technology offers a new standard of care to aesthetic treatments, proving safe outcomes. This treatment addresses skin laxity through the production of new collagen and elastin. Collagen is a natural protein that gives skin its toned and youthful appearance. As we age, collagen breaks down, resulting in sagging skin and lines and wrinkles. Sofwave’s unique ultrasound delivery can reduce these signs of aging for a refreshed appearance.

Benefits of Sofwave™

Sofwave™ offers many benefits for both men and women, including:
  • Tightens laxity on the face, neck, and other areas of the body
  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • Recently Sofwave™ was approved for the treatment of cellulite
  • Integrated epidermis cooling Sofcool™ and real-time skin temperature monitoring
  • No damage to underlying structures
  • Quick treatment taking about 30-45 minutes. Once the treatment begins you will feel warmth. The treatment is comfortable with the use of topical anesthesia. At the end of the therapy you may notice mild redness.
  • No downtime is required post treatment
  • treatment is non-invasive and safe to use on all skin tones and types
  • safety profile with no device-related adverse events reported in clinical studies
  • Consistent results

How Is Sofwave™ Different Than Other Existing Devices?

Today there are various energy-based technologies designed to treat skin laxity, lines and wrinkles. Some technologies (such as lasers) may require longer healing periods and downtime. Even RF microneedling treatments, that have recently become popular, can be uncomfortable, and require downtime. Gentler, non-invasive solutions (such as IPL and noninvasive RF) are ideal for textural improvement and can be combined with Sofwave™ to improve tightening and reduce wrinkles.

How Does Sofwave™ Work?

The unique Sofwave™ SUPERB™ technology creates heat at a depth of 1.5mm, which is the depth for treating wrinkles in the mid-dermis. It is also integrated with a cooling mechanism, Sofcool™ to protect the uppermost skin layer from damage. Sofwave™ will stimulate a healing response called neo-collagenases in the treatment areas. This process regenerates the collagen in the skin, leading to the softening of fine lines and wrinkles. Typically 1-2 treatments are required for optimal results, depending on the patient’s skin condition.

Sofwave™ Candidates

Anyone with skin laxity, lines, or wrinkles are candidates for this technology. A consultation is recommended to determine if you are the best candidate for this technology. Combination therapies are sometimes recommended depending on your individual needs.

Sofwave™ Results

There is no downtime required following a Sofwave™ treatment, and patients can return to their normal activities right away, including their daily skincare regimen. Following treatment, the skin may appear slightly red with mild swelling, which will resolve within a few hours. Results can be seen as soon as one week following a Sofwave™ treatment. However, the collagen regeneration process can take up to 12 weeks. This means that patients will enjoy a consistent improvement in the treatment site for three months after treatment.
