BroadBand Light (BBL)™ and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

BroadBand Light (BBL)™ is an innovative intense pulsed light (IPL) technology that sets new standards for skincare. It is a great choice for addressing skin changes associated with aging, active lifestyles, and sun damage. This treatment delivers excellent phototherapy results using the specific wavelength or filter for the targeted condition.

BBL™ can precisely treat age and sun spots, small facial veins, and other types of blemishes. To produce optimal effects, Dr. Tchelebi tailors each plan to match the unique concerns and goals of the patient. BBL™ IPL treatment can address the following:

  • Pigmented lesions: age spots, solar lentigines (freckles), burn erythema, hyperpigmentation
  • Vascular lesions: facial veins (telangiectasia), rosacea, port-wine stains, red spots (hemangiomas), poikiloderma

Lumecca IPL

Using IPL (intense pulse light) technology, Lumecca by InMode is a powerful treatment to address pigmented and vascular lesions. Lumecca uses photothermolysis which provides a photofacial through the delivery of a comfortable light treatment. In 1-3 sessions, the Lumecca IPL treatment improves the appearance of age spots, rosacea, freckles, sun damage, and more.

How It Works

The light energy delivered by the IPL™ device gently heats the outermost layers of the skin. The thermal energy stimulates the generation of new collagen, a process that helps restore the skin to its natural beauty. As a result, the skin appears smoother, more vibrant, and younger-looking following treatment. Additionally, small vessels that are responsible for pigmented lesions can also be minimized.

BLU-U® Light Therapy

BLU-U® light therapy is an effective treatment for acne vulgaris. The blue light produced by the BLU-U® device destroys Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes), the bacteria responsible for breakouts. BLU-U® light therapy can also target the abnormal cells that cause actinic keratosis, a common precancerous condition characterized by rough, scaly lesions that are caused by sun damage over time.

How It Works

During the procedure, a topical photosensitizer called Levulan is applied to the skin and left for an incubation period. The time varies depending on the severity of the actinic keratoses being treated. Levulan is made of aminolevulinic acid (ALA), a natural substance found in the body. After incubation, the Levulan is activated by exposure to the narrow-band blue light waves emitted by the BLU-U® light source. Patients may experience sensations of warmth, tingling, or burning during this part of the treatment.

How Does a LED Facial Work?

The LED facial is a type of photo rejuvenation that combines low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and colored light from light emitting diodes (LED) to trigger biological responses in the skin. Different colors of light have different wavelengths, and these wavelengths can penetrate the skin at different depths. Blue light, for example, targets the surface of the skin, destroying the bacterium that causes acne. This makes blue light therapy an effective treatment for managing active acne and reducing blackheads and whiteheads. In contrast, red light penetrates the surface of the skin and heats the deeper tissues of the epidermis. This triggers the body’s natural healing mechanism to stimulate the production of collagen. As a result, red light therapy provides an effective treatment for rejuvenating the skin and diminishing the signs of aging.

How Much Does a LED Facial Cost?

The cost of your LED Facial treatment depends on several factors unique to your specific treatment plan. During your complimentary consultation with Park Avenue Medical Spa, we will cover LED facial prices in detail and discuss if this type of skin rejuvenation is right for you. Acne Facial With LED Therapy

By combining red light and blue light wavelengths, LED therapy provides an effective acne facial for improving active acne. LED therapy reviews published in scientific literature suggests that blue and red wavelengths produce a synergistic effect to target breakouts on several levels. Blue light provides an anti-bacterial effect by destroying Propionibacterium Acnes, the inflammation causing bacteria that causes acne. Red light, or infrared light, provides an anti-inflammatory effect by safely heating the skin. This helps to shrink overactive oil glands that produce too much sebum, the oil that contributes to acne.

Recovery and Results

Photorejuvenation treatments generally do not require downtime, but patients are advised to avoid direct sun exposure temporarily. Results can be long-lasting, but some treatments require regular maintenance.
